IMAX Corporation and Nevafilm Company announced about strategic partnership in Russia and CIS

IMAX Corporation and Nevafilm Company have signed long term agreement about technical support of IMAX theatres located in Russia and CIS countries. This agreement covers existing IMAX theatres as well as 13 new IMAX theatres that are planned for the opening by 2011. According to the terms of the agreement Nevafilm will provide full service and technical support of IMAX analog and digital equipment, including guarantee support, urgent repair, parts supply and 12-hour call support.

 

“This agreement is important step in building infrastructure to support our growing network in this region, - said John Schreiner, IMAX vice-president, Business Development in Northern Europe. – Russian market is strategically important for us, and we want to be sure that our clients are provided with qualified technical support timely, independently of country’s time zone.” 

 

“We are proud of the partnership with IMAX, - said Oleg Berezin, Managing director, Nevafilm. – Our collaboration has begun some years ago: we provided the complex works such as theatre projection and equipment installation for the first IMAX theatre in Russia in 2003. Besides, our Tonstudio is in charge of localization and dubbing of all IMAX movies for distribution in Russia.”

 

The most part of IMAX theatres in Russia and in other countries will be equipped with IMAX digital cinema projection system. IMAX has signed agreements for 190 digital systems, 20 systems already operate in USA, 45-50 systems are planned for installation in the next year in Australia, Austria, UK, China, Russia, USA and Japan.
